ATV Adventure FAQs
-
Our current ATV fleet includes the Tracker 300, Arctic Cat 300, and Suzuki King Quad. All are well-maintained, capable machines built for single riders on the trails of northwestern Wisconsin.
-
You must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license. This is required by our insurance policy and there are no exceptions.
-
If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, yes. Wisconsin requires an ATV/UTV safety certification and you cannot ride on public trails without it. The course takes approximately 3 hours so do not wait until the day of your adventure. Complete it at offroad-ed.com/wisconsin before your trip.
-
No. ATVs are single rider only. Under Wisconsin state law, passengers are not permitted on ATVs unless the machine was originally designed and manufactured by the maker to carry a passenger. Our ATV fleet is single-rider only and this law applies on all public trails.
-
Your adventure includes the vehicle, helmet and goggles, trail pass, your first tank of gas, trailside assistance, and digital maps. We also offer custom route suggestions and local recommendations so you can make the most of your time in the area.
-
Weather-appropriate clothes that can get muddy or wet, a change of clothes for the ride home, gloves if you prefer, and a cooler with non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. Bring a car charger for your phone and camera. Helmets and goggles are provided and required. If you have your own DOT-approved full-face helmet and eye protection you are welcome to bring them. Pedal bike and skully-style helmets are not permitted.

Yes. Helmets are required at all times while the vehicle is in motion. Helmets that show wear from being left loose — scuffs or damage from bouncing around unrestrained — will be charged against your deposit.
-
Yes. You are responsible for refueling with premium 91 octane fuel before returning the machine. There are fuel stops accessible from the trails so plan accordingly. Do not return the machine on empty.
-
ATVs are single-rider machines with no passenger space, so unfortunately there is no safe way to bring a dog along. If you want to bring your dog, consider booking a UTV adventure instead where they can ride along comfortably.
-
The trail system connects directly through our property and opens into thousands of miles of trails across Burnett, Washburn, and Douglas counties and into Minnesota. You can ride groomed gravel paths, sandy forest routes, muddy backcountry terrain, and everything in between — all without crossing a road to get started.
-
Our ATVs do not have a built-in navigation system like Polaris Ride Command. We recommend downloading the OnX Off-Road app to your phone before your trip for trail navigation. Paper maps are also available at our location if you prefer.
-
The 7 hour adventure is a great full day option with plenty of time to cover serious ground on the trails. The 12 hour adventure is for those who want to go further, take their time, and really make a day of it with no clock pressure.
-
The ATV Weekender gives you a machine from Friday at 4pm through Sunday at 1pm. It is perfect for guests staying locally at a cabin or Airbnb who want the freedom to ride both days on their own schedule.
-
No. Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited when operating any of our vehicles. If we determine a rider is impaired, the adventure is terminated immediately and we will retrieve the machine. There are no exceptions or refunds.
-
Yes. We go out rain, shine, or snow. Adventures are only canceled in the case of severe weather such as a tornado, forest fire, or major flooding. Refunds for severe weather are handled on a case by case basis. Extreme heat is not grounds for cancellation or refund.
-
Unlike a UTV, ATVs have no roll cage — if you go down, the risk of injury is real. Call 911 first if anyone is hurt. Then call us immediately at 715-227-3004 regardless of how minor it seems. Reporting it promptly helps everyone and avoids disputes over damage when you return. If you are unable to right your machine yourself or if there is damage, we will come out to assess and get you back on the trails as soon as possible.
-
We are 1.5 to 2 hours northeast of the Twin Cities — close enough for a day trip and far enough that it genuinely feels like you got away.
