The name “Namekagon” means “The place abundant with sturgeon”. This river’s course is protected by the St Croix National Scenic Riverway and spans 101 miles. It is a tributary of the St Croix River. A great place to fish or take a kayak or canoe down this peaceful river.

The St Croix River is a tributary of the Mississippi River spanning nearly 169 miles. A portion of it serves as the Minnesota/Wisconsin border and it is a National Scenic Riverway under the protection of the National Park Service. In Danbury, your can rent a canoe, kayak, or tube and paddle your way under the iconic Gandy Dance Bridge.

The Yellow River is a shallow, gentle river that enters the town of Danbury from the south and flows into the St Croix River on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border. Locals and tourists enjoy tubing, kayaking, and canoeing this river and camping by it at the Eagle River Campground. Fishing is also popular. Visit in the summer and experience the duck races!

This “chain” consists of Minerva Lake, Cranberry Lake, Loon Lake, Gull Lake, Falk Lake, Burlingame Lake, & Love Lake. These lakes provide connected boating, fishing, and fun. There are several restaurants and shops within 10 miles of this chain including a boatside drive-up eatery at The Icehouse.
